چکیده

The Community Radiative Transfer Model (CRTM) is a powerful and versatile scalar radiative transfer model for satellite data assimilation remote sensing applications. It implemented as an object-oriented Fortran library, enabling flexible code development optimal runtime performance on clusters. downsides of the interface are steep learning curve students reduced productivity users that typical static compiled languages, in contrast to dynamic interpreted languages like Python. pyCRTM new software framework directly interfaces CRTM structures procedures Python, leveraging both simplicity ease use Python syntax well flexibility arising from vast contemporary ecosystem. goal lower barrier entry university learn boost researchers seeking create methods assimilation, or apply study atmospheric phenomena without having go through pre-existing complexity interface.

Py6S: A Python interface to the 6S radiative transfer model

Radiative Transfer Models (RTMs) are widely used to simulate the passage of solar radiation through atmospheres on Earth and other planets. They have a range of uses including atmospheric research and solar energy system design, and are widely used within remote sensing and Earth observation, but they are often seen as difficult to use with respect to the numerous input and outputs parameters. ...

Validation of the community radiative transfer model

To validate the Community Radiative Transfer Model (CRTM) developed by the U.S. Joint Center for Satellite Data Assimilation (JCSDA), the discrete ordinate radiative transfer (DISORT) model and the line-by-line radiative transfer model (LBLRTM) are combined in order to provide a reference benchmark. Compared with the benchmark, the CRTM appears quite accurate for both clear sky and ice cloud ra...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

A vector radiative-transfer model for the Odin/OSIRIS project

A vector radiative-transfer code has been developed that is able to accurately and efficiently calculate radiance and polarization scattered from Earth’s limb. A primary application of this code will be towards generating weighting functions, based on calculated limb radiances, for the retrieval of trace gases (O3, NO2, BrO, OClO, and O4) from the optical spectrograph and infrared imaging syste...

A Python interface to CASTEP

This report documents a successful pilot project and feasibility study for adding a Python interface to the CASTEP first principles materials modelling code. Such an interface will allow the growing Python community within the scientific computing field access to CASTEP functionality, without the requirement of learning Fortran. To achieve this, changes have been made to the CASTEP source code ...
